Home Services

HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, remodelling and restoration. The vertical where speed is not a nice-to-have — a homeowner with water coming through the ceiling calls three numbers and books whoever picks up first.

The real constraint

The lead is not the product. The booked job is.

Home services is the vertical most damaged by cost-per-lead thinking. Lead aggregators sell the same enquiry to four contractors, ad platforms report a form fill as a conversion, and everyone congratulates themselves on a $40 lead that had a one-in-four chance of ever being exclusive.

Meanwhile the phone rings during a job and goes to voicemail. Missed calls are the largest single source of lost revenue in most contracting businesses, and almost nobody measures them.

We measure to the booked job, and we make sure something answers every call and form within seconds — including the ones that arrive while your crew is on a roof.

What we usually find

  • 15–30% of inbound calls unanswered, and untracked
  • No call recording or tracking numbers, so channels cannot be judged
  • Aggregator leads counted the same as exclusive ones
  • Emergency and planned work sharing a single campaign structure
  • Service-area targeting far wider than the crews can profitably reach
  • Quotes sent and never followed up
What we build

Three pillars, applied to a truck roll

Missed-call and after-hours capture

Every unanswered call gets an immediate text back that opens a real conversation, captures the job details, and books the visit. Overnight and weekend enquiries stop being tomorrow's problem — which in an emergency trade means they stop being someone else's job.

Service-area economics

Drive time is a cost. We map profitability by postcode and cut the zones where the job is fine but the travel eats the margin, then concentrate spend where the crews are already efficient.

Digital Discovery

Call tracking that reaches the job

Dynamic numbers, recording and transcription, tied through to the field service system so you can see which channel produced the booked job and its actual ticket value — not just which produced a ringing phone.

Tracking & attribution

Emergency vs. planned split

A burst pipe and a kitchen remodel are different businesses sharing a van. Separate campaigns, separate response scripts, separate budgets — because emergency work can justify a far higher cost per call and planned work cannot.

Digital Discovery

Reviews & local visibility

Map pack position is close to destiny in this vertical. Systematic review requests triggered on job completion, plus the location and service pages that actually rank for the work you want.

Digital Discovery

Quote follow-up & seasonality

Unaccepted quotes chased automatically, and maintenance reminders timed to the season so the shoulder months stop being dead. Most contractors are sitting on a year of un-followed-up estimates.

Questions

Home services acquisition

Should we keep buying aggregator leads?

Sometimes, but they should be priced as what they are: a shared lead with a fractional chance of exclusivity. Once you model them at their real close rate against exclusive channels, the comparison usually makes the decision for you. They are also a fine stopgap while your own channels are being built.

Can an AI really handle an emergency call?

It handles the part you are currently losing — the call nobody picked up. It answers, captures the address and problem, tells the homeowner when someone can be there, and escalates immediately if there is a safety issue. That beats a voicemail every time.

Do you work with our field service software?

Usually. ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro and similar platforms expose enough API to book jobs and read completion data, which is what makes booked-job attribution possible in the first place.

We are a single-truck operation. Is this relevant?

The missed-call piece especially — a one-truck business misses more calls than a ten-truck one, because you are the person on the roof. The discovery and channel development work scales down; the response layer matters more, not less.

We'll count the calls you're missing

Most contractors have never seen this number. It is usually the cheapest revenue available to the business.
